The Xiaomi 12 series will be divided into two – the vanilla and Pro models will have regular looking camera bumps, the Ultra will have an expansive bump that is covered with many cameras and other sensors. But let’s focus on the vanilla model for a minute, as detailed CAD-based renders have been published by @OnLeaks and Zoutons.

Xiaomi 12 renders surface, hint at a relatively small 6.2'' display

The renders show off a pretty standard three-camera arrangement with a dual-LED flash. This camera bump will allegedly have a special coating, though that is yet to be confirmed. According to the leaks, the phone will be equipped with a 50 MP camera, but it’s not clear which sensor it will use.

Anyway, on the front is a 6.2” display, refreshingly restrained compared to the 6.81” of the Mi 11. It will have a 1080p+ resolution and its left and right sides will be curved, just like the outgoing model.

The Xiaomi 12 was certified with 67W charging and is expected to have a 4,500 mAh battery, though Zoutons mentioned 100W charging and a 5,000 mAh battery. That may be for the Pro model instead, considering that the larger Mi 11 had only 4,600 mAh in its tank.

Either way, it is certain that the 12-series models will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and will be among the first (Motorola already announced their phone, now it’s a race to the market).

The Xiaomi 12 will reportedly cost INR 70,000 in India. That converts to $920/€810, which sounds way too high – that’s Mi 11 Ultra money. We will get more reliable info on the phone as it gets closer to unveiling (it will be announced before the new year rolls around).
